Simple ways to get yourself into a healthy regimen during the summer months!
Summer is the perfect time to get into a fitness routine, and utilize everything the nice weather has to offer. Here are some simple ways to get yourself into a healthy regimen.
Take an Evening Walk
Unwind and take advantage of the neighborhood you live in by going for a nice evening walk. If you want a change of scenery, drive out to a local park or mountain and take in the outdoors. This could also be a great way to bond with your family or catch-up with a friend by inviting them on the walk with you!
Drink More Water
You may not realize it, but you should be drinking more water in the summer to avoid being dehydrated. Try to drink at least three (3) 32 oz. water bottles per day, and even more if you exercise.
Go Swimming
Summer is the only season that your local swimming pool will be open, so use it while you can! Swimming is not only a great workout because it uses strength all around your body, but it is low-impact and can help prevent sports’ injuries.
Grab your Bike
Instead of walking or driving to get from place to place, grab your bike. Take your bike to a park and ride through the wilderness or just bike in your own neighborhood. Biking is also a sport that isn’t hard on your joints, but has plenty of benefits, including saving you gas money!
Camp
Take your family or go with friends on a trip to a local or national park. Not only would it be a fun getaway, but you could spend time hiking through the forest or kayaking in a lake (if you’re lucky enough to have one nearby)!
