Body Shop certifications are reaping big benefits for our dealerships, technicians and customers.

MileOne is committed to continuing the education of our technicians through certification programs. Certifications, which are only given to body shops that have been evaluated by an independent third party to ensure the shop meets training and equipment requirements, reap big benefits for our dealerships, technicians and customers.

Recent studies have shown that 60% of car owners with poorly repaired vehicles will trade that vehicle in for another brand within 12 months of the repair. Certified body shops are more likely to repair the vehicle correctly due to enhanced training and equipment. Some manufacturers have started to market their certified repair shops to their customers to ensure they are directed to the shops that will repair the customers’ vehicles properly.

The owner of a correctly repaired vehicle is also much more likely to buy their next vehicle from that same dealership, increasing profit potential and promoting customer loyalty. Technicians profit from certifications, as well. With the proper training and equipment that comes with being certified, our technicians see a steadier volume of work and are able to complete the repairs quickly and correctly –  creating opportunities for more jobs and income.

Certifications also offer a boost of confidence to technicians and customers alike, knowing the repairs were done properly, safely and to the manufacturers’ specifications. MileOne has been enrolling our technicians in various training classes through I-Car, PPG, vehicle manufacturers and other industry sources. Technicians interested in attending classes to complete certifications should talk to their manager about what classes are available and how to register.
