No 2 Distracted Driving Campaign

Hall Automotive partners with the community to raise awareness and commit to safe driving.

For the third year in a row, Hall Automotive partnered with Cox Media, Geico and Drive Smart Virginia to present the “No 2 Distracted Driving” campaign. 

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 71% of teens and young people say they have composed and/or sent a text message while driving, and 78% say they have read a text message while driving. The University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute reports that 25% of teen drivers respond to a text message every time they’re behind the wheel.

The No 2 Distracted Driving campaign engages the community to participate and make a commitment to safe driving. During the eight week campaign, local Hampton Roads High School students create and submit videos that highlight the dangers of distracted driving. A panel selects the top four videos from entries received, and the winner is selected by votes submitted on the No2DD.com website.

Since 2013, Hall Automotive has seen an increase in participation rates across the board. During the 2015 campaign, video submissions increased 11% from the previous year, and the number of different high schools that participated and submitted videos increased 25%. The four finalist videos were viewed close to 5,000 times during the three week voting period.
