K9 Name Contest

The new addition to the Wilkes-Barre force has arrived and is awaiting a name!
In July, MotorWorld, with the aid of the Toyota Fund, donated $15,000 to the Wilkes-Barre Police Department to help the K9 unit secure a new police dog. In mid-August, we launched an online contest to name the K9 for a chance to win up to $500.
MotorWorld has received news coverage for their community efforts that has had a positive impact on the contest. After a spot on WNEP, Wilkes-Barre’s local ABC news station, the contest name submissions went from 150 to 1,100. As of today, the contest has generated more than 2,800 submissions!
The community effort by MotorWorld combined with the public relations coverage of this donation and contest has been a great success. Receiving such an overwhelming response to a company based contest that impacts where our customers live and work helps to exemplify MotorWorld’s community focus and outreach.
