MileOne MIS

You may not know it, but chances are you’re directly benefitting from this major initiative launched by MileOne’s MIS department.
Have you noticed an improvement with your network’s bandwidth? Credit MileOne’s MIS department, which has completed an initiative that resulted in company-wide upgrades to bandwidth.
The process started with negotiations and the selection of a vendor. Construction — which included equipment purchases, network engineering and the replacement of copper wires with fiber communication cables in most stores — lasted a few months. Last December, several MileOne locations became the first to experience the upgrades.
At most standalone locations, the network speed was between 1.5 to 3 Mbps. All locations now have a minimum speed of 20 Mbps and can be adjusted according to need and by number of users at the location.
A majority of the MIS department was involved under the leadership of Project Owner Steve Bailey. In Maryland, Todd Scheideman and his team assisted with managing and working with the vendor’s construction needs — and in Virginia Beach, Nathan Warrior’s team did the same. At MotorWorld, Rich Gibbons worked with the vendors to install new fiber lines and equipment.
Congratulations to all for a great team effort!
