“G”honcheh Mossanen

When this Human Resources Generalist suits up for work, she really suits up for work — with a helmet and shoulder pads.
Don’t mess with “G.” MileOne Human Resources Generalist “G”honcheh Mossanen played basketball throughout high school and was even recruited to play at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. However, that’s not the only sport in which she has excelled.
“G” is a professional football player with the Baltimore Nighthawks of the Independent Women’s Football League. Six years ago, while she was playing football in a Baltimore recreation league, a scout for the Nighthawks observed one of her games. The scout approached “G” and asked her to try out for the team. The rest, as they say, is history!
“G” is typically at work from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and then attends football practice from 7 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Admittedly, it took her a while to get accustomed to the physicality of the game — though she could’ve fooled us. In her rookie year, she made the pro bowl as a receiver and again as a cornerback a few years later.
Her job as a Human Resources Generalist compares very favorably to her life as a professional football player. As “G” describes it, both require a high level of professionalism and the ability to deal with a diverse population. Her football team and work life consist of an array of people, including teachers, executives, students, mothers and a variety of individuals from different cultural backgrounds.
“Being on the football field as an adult has taught me the true meaning of what it means to be on a team and to collectively work towards one goal,” she said. “My career has taught me the ability to lead and influence others to achieve their best.”
We are so proud of the skill “G” displays in the office and on the field. We hope another pro bowl is in her future!
