In February’s newsletter, we told you about MotorWorld Hyundai Technician Mike Gyory, who was one of four Americans who traveled to Hyundai International headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, last month to compete in the 11th Hyundai World Skill Olympics. This biennial skills competition pitted 84 of the world’s best Hyundai automotive service experts and technicians — representing 55 countries — against one another in various Olympic-style competitions and tests related to engine, transmission, electrical, chassis and written components.
A week prior to the Olympics, Mike flew to Los Angeles to train for the competition and meet with the other Hyundai Motor America representatives. The training paid off, and we’re excited to announce that Mike placed second in the competition!
Mike, who joined MotorWorld at the advice of his friend, claims that his recent participation in the Olympics is his proudest career moment to date — and who can blame him?
“The opportunity to meet colleagues from so many parts of the world is something I will never forget,” Mike said following the competition.
Congratulations, Mike! You did yourself — and the entire MileOne family — proud!
