Finding a Home with Heritage through Toyota’s T-Ten Program

Supporting our employees with continuing education programs is an integral part of MileOne’s mission statement. Mikey Ryan, an employee at Heritage Toyota Owings Mills, took advantage of Toyota’s T-Ten Program to advance his career.

A partnership between Toyota, community colleges, vocational schools and Toyota dealerships, T-TEN is an industry leading program that helps develop and place thousands of factory certified technicians in challenging, rewarding and well paid positions in Toyota dealerships across the country.

“I wanted to do something official instead of just getting experience from the workplace,” Mikey said. “I had already signed up for Toyota’s T-Ten Program and knew I would need to find a job that supported my being in school at the time and my need to advance my career in the future. I decided on Heritage Toyota and have been really happy with the home I’ve created and the support I’ve received.”

Mikey completed the two-year T-TEN program at Catonsville Community College to earn an Automotive Technology Associates Degree and is now a certified Toyota technician. He previously worked at Heritage Toyota Owings Mills as an apprentice while going to school and is now a full-time technician.

“I had support from just about everyone, but my mentors I apprenticed under, Rich Boone and Cam Westfall, worked me really hard to get as much knowledge as I could and pushed me to get my ASEs. From here, I want to get more ASEs and become a master,” Mikey added. “Heritage has been great. I don’t plan on going anywhere else; the support here has been wonderful.”

Congratulations Mikey on earning your degree. We’re proud to have you as part of the MileOne family.
