Get to Know Your MileOne Leaders: Michael Cuomo

Welcome to our new series, Get to Know Your MileOne Leaders. Each quarter, we will highlight a new member of our leadership team to hear about their likes, interests and everything in between.

Next Up: Michael Cuomo, Chief Accounting Officer

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Playing with Legos, Hot Wheels and monster trucks. (Not by myself, with my son lol).

What is your favorite food?

The same food that big orange cats like… lasagna.

Do you have any pets? If so, please share type of animal, name, etc.

I have a Lab/Hound mix that we rescued last year. Her name is Hurley and she loves belly rubs, eating what’s in the bathroom trash can and my leg.

What is your favorite season and why?

Fall. I grew up in South Florida and we never had a change of seasons really. I love the cool weather, fall leaves, Halloween, football season and most importantly… my birthday is in October.

What is the best place you've ever traveled to?

I’m not a big traveler, more of a homebody. But growing up we would vacation to Cocoa Beach. That’s where I fell in love with surfing and have many great memories with my family.

If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be?

History was my worst subject in school. Whoever invented Lasagna.

What is one thing you're proud of outside of work?

Volunteering at the local YMCA to help coach youth soccer. It’s more like herding cats, but I’m proud to help our youth and love seeing the kids have fun and develop!

What is a secret talent or hobby that most people don't know about?

Not really a talent, but I’m an identical twin. There’s 2 of me, watch out!

What is something you collect?

First it was stickers, then Pogs, then yoyos, then Pokémon cards… and now it’s bills and excel spreadsheets.

If you could have any career other than your current one, what would it be?

It would be in the medical field, trying to help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. My daughter was diagnosed at age 9 and it’s been life changing. She’s the strongest girl I know and the reason I work so hard.

Thanks for giving us a small peek into your life, Michael!
