Herb Gordon Subaru Tech Gets Recognized by Subaru of America

Every quarter, Subaru of America, Inc., accepts Quarterly Monitoring Reports (QMR) from Subaru technicians across the nation. The QMR contains a detailed diagnosis and repair order for a newly discovered issue that a technician encounters on the job. Subaru reviews all the applications and selects one technician per quarter. If selected, the winner receives a trip to Lafayette, Indiana to visit and tour the Subaru of Indiana Automotive plant and a tour of the ‘world-famous’ Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Also included in this reward, each winner receives two plaques, one is an SBR Appreciation letter from SBR Corporate VP Hiroki Kurihara and the second is a SOA Appreciation letter from President and CEO Tom Doll, and Vice President of Service and Quality Michael Campbell.

Left to right: David Kirby (Subaru, Field Service Engineer), Corey Repoza (Herb Gordon Subaru, Senior Master Technician), Greg Edwards (Herb Gordon Subaru, Service and Parts Director), Edward Sarecky (Herb Gordon Subaru, General Manager)

Subaru of America selected one of our own, Corey Repoza from Herb Gordon Subaru. Corey has been with MileOne Autogroup for almost five years now and recently took the opportunity to submit one of his diagnosis’ as a QMR.

After speaking with Corey, we learned a little bit more about what exactly a QMR is. Subaru takes great pride in following the research and diagnosis of any issues that technicians encounter. All issues they focus on typically come from the newly released vehicles that experience first time issues that could require a recall on certain parts. Subaru counts on technicians across the nation to find issues such as the A/C issue Corey repaired so that they can recreate it to learn and enhance the overall quality and performance of the vehicle.

Corey recently returned from his trip to Indiana with three other QMR winners coming from Virginia, Idaho and Oregon. While he was in Indiana, he enjoyed the Subaru Factory visit and watching and understanding how the cars are being built. As a technician, he stated that he is constantly taking apart and putting back together pieces of the cars, but had never actually seen one created from start to finish, until now! He also had the opportunity to speak to the VP of Subaru of Indiana Automotive. He was amazed to hear that the factory can build 1,600 Subarus in one day!

Now that Corey has returned from his trip to Indiana, he continues to aid Subaru in finding issues and creating QMRs. He is currently working on another submission, again around the A/C unit. Corey, we wish you lots of luck and success as you continue your career at MileOne. We greatly appreciate all the work you do!
