Throughout 2019, the Heritage Division, the MileOne marketing team and MileOne Corporate employees hosted dinners at the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge in Baltimore. Hope Lodge is a home away from home for cancer patients receiving treatment in Baltimore. It is a free place for the patient and a caregiver to stay if they live far away.
Each month, 3-5 Heritage and MileOne Corporate volunteers joined 1-2 members of the marketing team to serve food and drinks to the residents of Hope Lodge. This small commitment of time led to countless “thank yous” from the residents. Not only do the residents appreciate a warm meal that they don’t have to prepare themselves after a grueling day of treatment, but the reviews on the food (catered by Liberatore’s) were always phenomenal.
We are honored to work with the terrific volunteers and staff at Hope Lodge, including Lodge Manager Karen Seaberry. Karen told us, “It is my great honor to partner with MileOne Autogroup. They have embraced the mission of Hope Lodge and have supported the program in so many ways. MileOne’s support of the American Cancer Society and our Baltimore Hope Lodge has helped make a positive impact on the lives of so many cancer patients. We can’t thank them enough.”
The Heritage stores and Corporate employees will continue to host the monthly dinners throughout 2020.
Heritage Sales Director Hal Perez passionately stated how this is one of the best experiences he’s had since working at MileOne. “It’s nice to be able to visit this incredible facility and program,” he continued, “to sit and hear the residents’ stories and share their company. On our last visit, there was one resident who was happy to show off his room that had been upgraded and sponsored by MileOne. I look forward to being able to go again a few times this year.”
