How Do I Raise Money for ACS?
The 20th season of ACS fundraising is underway! Thank you to the stores who have already kicked off fundraising in a big way – BMW of Silver Spring, Herb Gordon Nissan, Mercedes-Benz of Owings Mills and Audi & Porsche Silver Spring have already raised over $1,000 per store!
Last year, MileOne donated over $301,000 to the American Cancer Society’s efforts in the communities where we live and work. Where did that money go?
2018 Funds
- Donations in both Maryland and Virginia kicked off a supplemental transportation program in both regions called Travel to Treatment with MileOne. The program provides rides for cancer patients going to and from treatment who otherwise do not have the means to do so. So far this year, MileOne has provided over 5,100 rides.
- Maintaining Hope Lodge in Baltimore to maintain accommodations for cancer patients who travel from out of town to receive their treatment.
- Local event sponsorships designed to help raise money for local mission projects such as wig creation and distribution, the 1-800 support line, research and more.
- Local research being completed at hospital systems such as Johns Hopkins and UMMC and universities in Pennsylvania, Baltimore, DC and Virginia such as George Washington University and University of Virginia.

How to Fundraise
- Talk to your store champion - Ask your ACS store champion how to help fundraise at your store – anything from organizing events to placing a fundraising flyer on your desk!
- Promote your online team fundraising page - All store fundraising pages can be found on Crowdrise.com/MileOne4ACS
- Contribute to store fundraising events - See a full list of store fundraising events on MileOne4ACS.com
- Participate in the 3rd Annual MileOne Online Auction - The online auction will run from November 4 – 13th. Keep an eye on your email and on HR Connection for details closer to the event.
- Sell raffle tickets - In Maryland and Virginia all stores are selling raffle tickets for a 2019 Honda CR-V or a $20,000 cash prize. If you need tickets, talk to your store champion
