A Message from Steve Fader

Hi.

 

Thanks for a great quarter. The second quarter of 2019 is going to go down as our best quarter in the history of this company. How does that happen? It happens because of you, it happens because of the things that you do every day in taking care of your fellow employees and our customers. As a small token of my appreciation, I sent around these food trucks to you that say Steve’s Eats. I hope you’ve enjoyed them. They were fun putting together - fun for all of us. And while it’s just a small reward I want you to know how much I appreciate everything that you’re doing every day.

 

We recently closed our sixth year of the NextMile Scholarship program. The Program continues to be popular among our employees and their families. This program assists employees and their family members in pursuing their educational goals at colleges, universities and trade schools. This year we will have officially awarded over $1 million dollars in scholarship grants since the program’s inception in 2014. It is so inspiring to me to see employees and their family members continuing their education and bettering themselves with new certifications and degrees. Later this summer you will be notified if you were approved as a 2019 NextMile Scholarship recipient. Good luck to all of you.

 

This past quarter we introduced complimentary Medicare Counseling to our employees and their spouses who are nearing the age of 65. We recognize this is a challenging topic to understand so we looked for resources for you and your family to better utilize as a roadmap to Medicare. It’s off to a great start and we’ve already had over 75 employees and family members participate in webinars to learn more about how they can take advantage of the Medicare services and programs when they turn 65. We will be offering more webinars in the fall, but in the meantime, if you or your spouse are nearing the age of 65 please visit HRConnection for more information on how to schedule a personal consultation.

 

We have also recently implemented “Chat Sessions” in each of the regions. Led by each Divisional President within the first 90 days of employment, “Chat Sessions” are an opportunity for newly hired employees to be officially welcomed to MileOne. They also create an open environment for new employees to share feedback related to their onboarding experience and offer ideas that they may have regarding our operations in the dealership.

 

We believe our employees are our greatest resource for providing feedback and want to also encourage all our employees to share ideas by sending me an email at asksteve@mileone.com.

 

For those celebrating a Milestone anniversary this year, you should have received your save the date for the Milestone Recognition luncheon happening this fall.  The tenure amongst our company employees never ceases to amaze me. These luncheons provide an opportunity to pause, reflect and celebrate our accomplishments together as a team. At this year’s luncheon, I look forward to presenting a new MileOne Employee Advantage that the HR team has been working very hard to put together.
