Last year, MileOne Automotive acquired the Russel and R&H dealerships, which came equipped with internal accounting departments. Since that acquisition, a need to consolidate all departments under one roof at the Towson City Center became clear. Enter MileOne Automotive Director of Vendor Relations Deborah Meyers, who was recruited by the company’s executive team to ensure this significant transition ran smoothly.
Not surprisingly, Deb took on the project with enthusiasm, becoming the project manager for this large-scale office move, which included multiple floors and departments at corporate headquarters — as well as Mercedes-Benz of Owings Mills and BMW of Catonsville. Once a project decision was made, it took just four weeks for Deb to push it from the design and approval phase to construction.
In October, the office relocation began with the 10th floor call center moving to Owings Mills, followed by the demolition and renovation of the payroll suite and the space occupied by Allstate Leasing. The project is expected to conclude before the end of the year.
Deb, who celebrated her 20th anniversary with MileOne over the summer, believes the transition would not have gone as smoothly without the cooperation of her colleagues.
“We went through some tough times with teammates crammed into tight spaces and working during construction, but everyone rose to the occasion,” she said. “The real challenge was timing and ensuring that everything happened in order so that the accounting and payroll teams could be settled in by mid-November.”
When Deb isn’t working, she’s committed to seeing the world. She takes yearly cruises with travel buddies and hopes to revisit Europe with her husband John.
After her relentless work on this project, we hope that annual cruise is coming up soon!
