MotorWorld Employee Fundraising for Local Cause in NYC Marathon

Running in a marathon is something people put on their bucket lists – a dream item, a lifetime goal, something they may train for years to accomplish. Russell Oelschlager, a service tech at MotorWorld, has already run multiple marathons and plans to run another one again this fall. And this time he’s not only running to stay in shape, or to continue his passion, but to raise money to help disabled children and adults.

Russ will represent MotorWorld Toyota on WNEP TV’s Ryan’s Run 9 team as they run the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon on November 4, 2018.  Ryan’s Run is a fundraiser to help children and adults with disabilities, life-changing injuries and chronic illness at Allied Services. This non-profit health system touches the lives of almost 5,000 people in the MotorWorld region each week.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” Russ said. “This race isn’t one you can just walk in on – you have to qualify and meet specific requirements dictated by the state running board. This and Boston are the two races that any real runner would like to do and to partner with Allied Services made it just that much better.”

Russ picked up running as a hobby almost a decade ago, and hasn’t slowed down since. It doesn’t matter if it’s a road, trail, for fun, or a competitive race, Russ will run it. He’s very excited to combine his love of running with the chance to support Allied Services.

With a goal to raise $5,000, Russ is fundraising in the MotorWorld store as well as online.  Please help Russ accomplish his goal by making a donation today - https://allied-services-foundation.everydayhero.com/us/russell-oelschlager.

As Russ modestly stated, “By day, I’m a humble mechanic. When I put my running shoes on, I’m seeking self-accomplishment. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine my love of running with the chance to support a local charity that does so much good.”
