Peter Heard Wins Audi Commitment to Kb Award

Congratulations to Peter Heard, Service Advisor at Audi Silver Spring, for earning the Commitment to Kb Award in appreciation for his 25 years of loyal and distinguished service.
Kb, part of the Audi employee mission, is about working towards providing an optimal experience for a customer; redefining the customer experience by first redefining the employee experience. Kb, the shortened version of the German Kundenbegeisterung, has no direct translation in English. Therefore, American Audi dealerships shortened it to Kb or simply “creating Audi fans”. Kb is a major part of the training and onboarding of every single Audi employee.
“It’s always about Kb in an Audi store,” said Silver Spring Service Director Jay Sponseller. “If we’re thinking of just the spark plugs or simply selling the hardware then we’re losing the spirit of Kundenbegeisterung and not committing to what makes Audi unique.”
The recognition of Peter’s tenure for Audi is a reflection of his dedication to Kb.
According to Jay, “Peter is not only worthy of Kb, but overall he is one of our best employees. When you meet him, you’ll immediately understand.”
Peter started at Tischer in the summer of 1987 as a parts driver at Subaru. He then worked at the parts counter before moving to Audi in the same role. He graduated to become a parts manager for a few years, but from that role transitioned to the service side.
“I wanted to use my customer service skills as opposed to being strictly with the product,” Peter commented. “I ended up loving that aspect of service and kept taking the opportunities that MileOne provided me to grow with it. I’ve been a Service Advisor for 5 years.”
How has Peter encompassed Kb into his work life?
“I need to make sure that every interaction I have with an individual is the most pleasant, most enjoyable experience they have, whether it’s buying anything or in general conversation,” Peter stated. “I want to be informative, friendly and kind, even when they’re having a frustrating time with their car.”
Congratulations on your many years of terrific service, Peter, and your well-deserved award from Audi!
