MotorWorld's IT Supervisor Retires After 48 Years
After close to 5 decades being MotorWorld's go-to tech expert extroardinare, Rich Gibbons celebrated his retirement last month. While we aren't sure exactly what we'll do without him, we wish him all the best as he begins a new chapter full of rest & relaxation. Congratulations on an incredible career, Rich! We can't thank you enough for all you've done for MileOne over your tenure here.
The 2024 American Cancer Society Raffle Winner is Chosen
On December 4, the live drawing for the 24th Annual American Cancer Society Vehicle raffle was held down at Hall Toyota Virginia Beach. CONGRATS to Frank from the Baltimore area who purchased his ticket at the ACS Maryland Golf Classic at the Baltimore County Country Club back in September. 100% of the funds raised will go directly to ACS’ Road to Recovery program which provides rides to cancer patients undergoing treatment.
Career Connection Success Story: Damien Bronsburg
Damien (pictured above on the left) started as a part-time lot attendant at MotorWorld 4 years ago while he was a senior in high school. He continued working at MotorWorld while he attended Lock Haven University and after graduating in 2023, was looking to grow. "I'd seen many people who had gotten promoted from within and I wanted to establish a great career here."
Enter Career Connection - our Internal Job Board! Damien was able to explore new opportunities and secure a position as a Service Advisor with the Lexus team. "I’m excited to have Damien join the Lexus Service team. If something needs to be completed, Damien can be counted on to do it with a positive attitude. Damien’s energy and enthusiasm are contagious, and I look forward to watching him grow into a successful service advisor," said his new manager Joel Newell (pictured above on the right). Way to go, Damien!
Kennard Speight Joins Our Newly Minted Special Finance Department
Kennard (pictured above on the right) started with MileOne back in 2020 in the Accounting Department where he grew in his automotive knowledge and held several roles during his tenure. In November, Kenndard officially transferred to the Special Finance Department where he began his new role as a Junior Credit Analyst!
His Manager, Kory Kennedy (pictured above on the left) had this to say about Kennard joining the team, "Over the next few months, Kennard will be learning how to read credit reports and profiles and then matching the proper financing options to our customers in order to help our customers buy their new vehicles. Having Kennard transfer from within the Heritage division definitely gives him an edge in mastering new responsibilities to come."
Monthly Car Seat Distribution Events Continue at Toyota Owings Mills
Each month, we're distributing free car seats to underserved families in the Baltimore Metro Area. These events are designed for expectant parents and newborns up to 6 months to ensure the smallest among us ride safely from day one! Between these monthly events in Owings Mills, our Education & Installation Events across divisions, and donations to our incredible non-profit partners, we were able to distribute over 2,000 car seats in 2024 to local families throughout the areas we serve.
