The Silver Lining of the COVID Pandemic

We recently asked everyone in a Workday survey to send feedback on what aspect of being quarantined with your family you’ve enjoyed the most.  A majority of our employees shared with us that the silver lining of the COVID-19 pandemic was reconnecting with family members. We believe it’s always a good practice to seek out the positive in the face of adversity. See what some of your coworkers said about the beauty of spending more time at home.

“Watching my baby girl start walking!”
      - Aaron, Mercedes-Benz of Silver Spring

“Unity. At times like this we are realizing how much we barely saw each other and how much love was missing. We are considering each other’s interests more, cooking new foods, making up games to play, and genuinely enjoying this time we are having as a family. Although times are hard, I've grown to deeply appreciate family time together because we never know when our last moment together is. I'm truly thankful for this moment in time!”
      - Alexis, Hall Body Shop

“Spending a lot of time with my kids; teaching them to cook and bake and eating dinner together at a normal time.”
      - Andrew, Heritage Director of Fixed Ops

“Connecting with and doing crafts with my teenage daughter.”
      - April, Silver Spring Corporate

“Enjoying me time! Catching up on projects, much needed reading and much needed prayer.”
      - Angela, Mercedes-Benz of Annapolis

“I love that I have been able to connect more with my sister and spend time with my new puppy!”
      - Brenda, Hall Corporate

“Bonding with my granddaughter.”
      - Tom, MotorWorld Corporate

“Being together more, playing board games, building puzzles, going on walks and spending more time with our 20-year old dog!”
      - Tony, Heritage CDJR Harrisburg

“Having all of my children home and under one roof! Two of my three children are in college and it’s been so nice to have everyone home again.”
      - Cathy, Hall Toyota Elizabeth City

“Trying new things and finding new hobbies!”
      - Courtney, Hall Honda Virginia Beach

“The increased communication this has afforded us.”
      - Dennis, BMW of Silver Spring

“Making sure my elderly mother is safe, eating properly and is well cared for.  I enjoy being with her and listening to stories about her life.  I have been able to be there for her when she has had difficulty with her health and that is important to me.”
      - Donna, Mercedes-Benz of Annapolis

“The quiet time away from the public to learn and expand, to catch up on tasks and work towards self-improvement.”
      - Kris, Hall Mazda Virginia Beach
